I work with various tutoring agencies, including Tavistock Tutors. I teach privately too. Also, I teach at Wivenhoe Bookshop, and I have run philosophy courses at two Colchester venues (namely, Red Lion Books and The Minories). From January 2017, I will be teaching at Learning for Pleasure, Brentwood.

I have taught at the Universities of Essex, Hertfordshire and Central Lancashire and at the Open University.

I used to post teaching handouts here – but they ended up elsewhere on the Internet. I would ask anyone seeking a particular handout to contact me. That said: some handouts for the Philosophy Breakfasts are available on this site (see here) although I may password-protect them in the future. Also, one can see the contents of my (positively architectonic) ‘Kantian Tables’ document at this URL; and some other pieces are available via my academia.edu page. Also, the following might be useful (though some of the content requires the ‘QuickTime’ browser plug-in): ‘Philosophy Bites: podcasts of top philosophers interviewed on bite-sized topics’. Finally here: for advice on academic writing, I recommend The Complete Plain Words; and, for a thorough book on how to write philosophical texts, there is Martinich, Philosophical Writing: An Introduction.
